DARK BLONDE a.k.a. Birgit Fischer is a German Pop Singer Songwriter from Hamburg, Germany. Her singing voice is also known from international TV commercials.

Fischer studied popular music at the pop course at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, as well as systematic musicology and took private singing lessons in New York. She taught pop singing at the Hamburg Singer Academy.

In 1997 she won first place in the John Lennon Talent Award with her band Motorsheep. In 1998 she was signed to the Motor Music record company, which released the single “The Little Dancer” and featured it on MTV. In 1999 the album “Come to play forever” was released, which stylistically covered alternative rock, electronic fairy tales and ballads with the London Session Orchestra. Despite a promising start and numerous positive reviews the band broke up in 2001. Fischer’s career as a soloist began. Birgit Fischer has been a studio singer since 1994 and has been one of the voices present in German TV advertising since 1998. She sang for the brands Telekom, Dr. Oetker, Mercedes-Benz, Fa, Nivea, Perwoll, Ferrero, Vodafone, smart and Volkswagen in over 300 commercials. After 1999, Birgit Fischer was also active as a live singer in several gala and jazz bands in Germany and Scandinavia for 8 years.

In 2022 she attended the Real World Studios (UK) to carry out the Beat Camp artist residency. There She worked together with the German singer and songwriter “Lunattack” recording the single “Lumina” which is expected to be released with a music video in mid-2023. This new audiovisual work will present the new era of Fischer as “DARK BLONDE“.
